The Cube Floor — verifiable compute from idle machines

The Cube Floor runs the Open Compute Network: a marketplace where people with computing work to do are matched with people whose machines are otherwise idle. Work is split into small units called cells, dispatched to contributed hardware, verified by recomputation on unrelated machines, and settled through an immutable ledger. Nobody involved has to trust anybody else, which is the only arrangement under which strangers will lend you their hardware.

Computing work runs on machines contributed by the public, not in a datacentre.
Every result can be checked: a sample is recomputed on a second, unrelated machine, and known-answer work is mixed into the same stream.
Prices are published as a live index rather than negotiated.
Contributors are never offered work priced below their own measured electricity cost plus a margin.
The SDK is Python with no dependencies, and runs locally with no account at all.
